The Atelier
Builders, in the
old sense of the word.
Our story
A small studio. A long view.
Salt River Homes was founded in Lehi, Utah in 2020 by Josh Moffat with a single conviction: that a small, deliberate atelier could build better homes than a large production firm — provided it built fewer of them.
We work exclusively on commissions of two million dollars and above. That floor isn't a badge; it's a discipline. It's the figure at which we can specify the materials, allocate the time, and assemble the trades that an heirloom residence demands.
Every project is led personally by the principal. Every drawing is reviewed by hand. Every site visit is unannounced. We answer to one client at a time and we treat that relationship as the privilege it is.
What we believe
Three principles, observed without exception.
I.
Restraint
Less, but better. We refuse projects that don't suit us, materials that won't endure, and details that exist only to impress. The result is a home that feels inevitable, not decorated.
II.
Craft
We employ a roster of trades cultivated over decades — millworkers, masons, plasterers, metalsmiths. They are not subcontractors. They are co-authors.
III.
Discretion
Our clients value privacy. Many of our finest estates have never been published. We work quietly, deliver quietly, and let the architecture speak when it is ready.
